The Landfill Operator performs all aspects of operating the Mercer County Landfill. The Landfill Operator will maintain building and grounds; perform daily inspections of equipment; perform scale house duties; operate equipment; and perform random load inspections. A valid ND drivers license and pre-employment drug screening are required.

MERCER COUNTY CORRECTIONAL OFFICER/DISPATCHER
Mercer County Sheriff’s Department has an opening for a full-time permanent Correctional Officer/Dispatcher. Work schedule involves shift work, weekends, and holidays. Benefits include employer sponsored health/dental/vision, life insurance, and NDPERS. A GED equivalent or high school diploma and a valid North Dakota Driver’s License are required. Some of the duties include: Dispatch and maintain radio contact with field personnel; record radio transmissions and phone calls; meet and assist persons coming into the Law Enforcement Center; effectively dispatch required emergency personnel; and perform duties relating to booking incoming prisoners and processing outgoing inmates. Upon employment, the applicant must complete and pass other required training. All training, equipment, and uniforms provided by Mercer County. CLASS B TRUCK DRIVER
The Mercer County Highway Department has an opening for a full-time permanent Class B Truck Driver. Mercer County offers employer sponsored health/dental/vision, life insurance, and NDPERS. Some of the duties include: complete paperwork and return to office in timely fashion, a working knowledge of the truck and hoist operating system, completing small repairs on the truck in the field, walk around inspection before starting, keeping equipment clean and in good operating condition, maintain a log book, and help mechanic with repairs. A Class B license with endorsements (air brakes) must be maintained. Pre-employment drug testing is required.
